The Department for Civil Liberties and Immigration of the Ministry of Interior has developed the computer program that since Dec. 9 will allow the management of applications for participation in the Italian language test that will support foreigners who intend to apply for residence permit for EC long-term residents. From that date, in fact, simultaneously with the entry into force of Decree 4 June 2010 which governs the making of the test, the foreign national concerned must submit electronically to the prefecture of the province where the home demand that testing , via the website http://testitaliano.interno.it and filling out the application form. For users who use browsers like InternetExplorer that may occur on the page may receive an error message. It is therefore necessary to click on 'CONTINUE WITH THE WEB SITE'. The procedure for submitting applications, management and use of the application process and to conduct the tests are indicated by the Italian Department in the circular direction of the central policies of immigration and asylum No 7589 of 16 November 2010.
This is a summary of the procedure: the application made on line by the system is captured and transferred to the competent prefecture. If the demand is regular, the prefecture shall convene the applicant within 60 days by the instance, always on-line, indicating the date, time and place of the test. In case of irregularities or lack of requirements, the system automatically generates and sends the applicant a notice stating the requirements to allow the correction of the missing information. An applicant shall forward the application has provided a service (helpdesk) that can contact via e-mail address in http://testitaliano.interno.it filling out the form at the 'Help Desk' .
The test result can be consulted by the applicant on http://testitaliano.interno.it, is inserted into the system by the competent prefecture, which makes it available through web services to the police headquarters for verifications in order to issue the permit long-term residence.
