Eight trucks with humanitarian aid arrived in Romania a few hours ago in Neamt, Hincesti. Romania sent a team of intervention and equipment to help people who have suffered from the floods. Romanian government aid is fully fitted with 10 rubber dinghies, 8 intervention trucks, 5 trailers and five pumps, portable pumps, 30,000 sand bags, a thousand pairs of rubber boots, 15,000 square feet of polyethylene material for defense dams and 10 tons of bottled drinking water. Also on Neamt arrived an intervention squad of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, consisting of two officers and 24 NCOs. Trucks and personnel that accompanied the column with humanitarian aid will remain in the area affected by the disaster to assist in overcoming the consequences of flooding. Premier Filat thanked the Romanian Government for prompt response to request the Government to grant humanitarian aid, noting that it is a friendly gesture that deserves praise. To date, flooding has affected 60 villages in 14 districts of the country. Three thousand people were evacuated from the water, and 487 homes were flooded.
