After almost a year Chisinau received approval for the appointment of the Romanian party Iurie Renita as ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Bucharest, said sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. The nomination was all the more expected, as the new ambassador of Romania Chisinau, Marius Lazurca, has already presented his credentials. Filling the two posts of ambassador to Chisinau and Bucharest respectively, is considered a key step for strengthening bilateral relations, which began a gradual relief after coming to power in the neighboring country of AEI.

Asked when he signed a presidential decree appointing him as ambassador Iurie Renita, Acting President of the Republic of Moldova, Ghimpu first said he expects a Government decision in this regard.

Iurie Renita is 52 years old and is a professional journalist. He was part of the first class of students from the Republic of Moldova at the National School of Political Science and Public Administration in Romania. In the period 1996-1999 was a counselor at the Moldovan Embassy in the United States and later, in 1999 he was adviser to Foreign Minister Nicolae Tabacaru. Iurie Renita worked on the OSCE mission in Croatia in 1999-2003. He is currently manager of American Tobacco Company.
